These Asian lettuce wraps are satisfying enough to be a light main course, or serve as great appetizers/sides for your next get-together. They’re just like the lettuce wraps you can get at PF Chang’s, only healthier and cheaper to make. Those are pretty bold claims, but we’re willing to put our money where our mouth is.

If ground turkey isn’t your thing, you can always swap it out for some chicken or sliced mushrooms for a veggie substitute. Serve with extra hot sauce for more spice, or use peanut sauce if you want to add some Southeast Asian-inspired flavors.

Asian Lettuce Wraps

These Asian lettuce wraps are just like PF Chang's, but with way more flavor and good-for-you ingredients.

Ingredients

  • 1/3 pound ground turkey
  • 1/4 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 ounce water chestnuts
  • 1/2 cup mushroom
  • 1/16 cup yellow onion
  • 1/16 cup soy sauce
  • 1/8 tablespoon rice wine vinegar
  • 1/16 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 clove minced garlic
  • 1/8 teaspoon Sriracha
  • 1/16 cup green onion
  • 1/4 head bibb lettuce

Instructions

  1. Prep: Finely dice water chestnuts, mushrooms, yellow onion, and green onions.
  2. Mix: soy sauce, rice wine vinegar, ginger, and Sriracha together in a small bowl.
  3. Heat pan: add sesame oil and garlic to a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Add: yellow onion and ground turkey to pan and cook uncovered, for about 5 minutes.
  5. Add: water chestnuts, mushrooms, and sauce mixture to pan. Continue cooking for 3-5 more minutes, stirring frequently.
  6. Add: turkey mixture to lettuce cups and top with green onions.
